Sergey Stepashin meets with Ambassador of Qatar to Russia Ahmed bin Al-Thani

On March 17, 2021, the representatives of the Association of Lawyers of Russia (ALRF) met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Qatar to the Russian Federation Ahmed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani. The meeting was attended by the Co-Chairman of the ALRF Sergey Stepashin, member of the Presidium of the ALRF, Rector of the Swiss Academy for International Law (SAIL) Alexey Klishin, Vice Rector of the SAIL for Development Nikolai Elistratov, Head of the Department for International Development of the ALRF Cha Mi Vu, and diplomats of the Qatar Embassy in Russia.

Sergey Stepashin congratulated Ahmed bin Al-Thani on his appointment to the position of the Ambassador of Qatar to Russia and stressed the importance of cooperation between Russian and Qatari institutions in the sphere of law, education and sports.

“It is important to strengthen cooperation between our organisations in the field of international law and counter the unfair use of legal instruments,» said Co-Chairman of the ALRF.

In addition, the Ambassador of Qatar to Russia invited Sergey Stepashin to make an official visit to Doha.
